Probably the most used live coding environment for VJing (club-based live visuals) is Fluxus, but it’s also possible in a lot of environments, including SuperCollider, which is otherwise designed for music and DSP (digital signal processing). Here’s some snapshots from a long VJ set by uiae, who is an experienced musical live coder but this is his first VJ set, accompanying some fine (non-livecoding) DJs. Interesting to see musical elements come through in the video too…
(Updated, this was originally wrongly credited to uiae’s collaborator cappel:nord, who was intending to VJ too this night but had a laptop breakdown, sorry about that both!)
I think one of the most used live coding environment for VJing would be VVVV (vvvv.org).
